STUDIES.

 

He studied at the Faculty of Arts and Letters of the University of Havana, 1985-1987.

Received the Management Scholarship in the specialty of Black and White Professional Laboratories, by Maine Photography Workshops USA, August 2000.

Graduated from the First Course of Professional Photography and Applied Visual Language.

Workshop on Nude Photography, given by the Spanish photographer Rafael Navarro. Center for the Development of the Visual Arts and Photo Librery of Cuba.

Commercial Photography Workshop, taught by Mexican photographer Eduardo Cepeda, Master of Photography from the University of Chicago. Higher Institute of Design, City of Havana, Cuba.

Workshop "Liquid Light Emulsion" taught by the French photographer Magali Mureau. Photo librery of Cuba.

Workshop "The Concept in the Photographic Image" given by Stacy Bogue of Parson's School of Design, NY. USA.

 

 

PROFESSIONAL WORK.

 

He worked as a photojournalist in the newspaper Tribuna de La Habana, from 1988 to 1990.

Has worked in fashion photography and advertising for different agencies and foreign companies in Cuba.

Has taught History of Photography Master classes.

Has participated as a jury of the Provincial Salon of Plastic Arts "Mirtha Serra, Havana Cuba.

From July 1996 to April 2001 he worked as a photographer of the Fototeca de Cuba.

In 1997 he worked on the project "Photographic Essay on the History of Colonies of Immigrants and Racial Minorities in Cuba".

Was a photographer and printer at the workshop "La Cámara Oscura", given by the Brazilian artist Paula Trope, 6th Biennial of Havana.

Participates as a speaker at the round table "New proposals: their aesthetics", in the V Iberoamerican Meeting and Photography Colloquium. International Press Center. Havana city.

Participates in the photographic project in commemoration of the Centennial of the Japanese Presence in Cuba, coordinated by the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples, the Embassy of Japan in Cuba and the Association of Japanese of Cuba.

In 1997 he participated as a speaker in the round table "Techniques and ways of working", and taught the Laboratory Workshop, in the First International Event "Fotonoviembre 97", Santiago de Cuba.

Gave a master lecture "The human body as a photographic object in Cuba", Masonic National Museum, Great Masonic National Temple, Havana.

He teaches a Master Classes at the Polytechnic University of Tokyo, in the conference room of the Faculty of Arts.
